A trip down memory lane (2016)

It has really been a while since I posted something here about my travel. So, before I head on to another adventure next week, I’ll trip down memory lane where my wanderlust took me last year. I travelled 8 times and visited 3 places last year. Yeap, that means I visited one place 6 times. And then after that, I honestly kinda slowed down being gypsy as some adulting stuff demanded my attention plus the unexpected occurrences. I swear, it’s a mix of good and bad but nonetheless, here it is:

March 2016, Hong Kong

Yes, achievement unlocked! My first travel out of the country in my own funds! I could never be proud of myself. (lols!) But I or should I say we (travelled with friends this time), really didn’t do much on this trip. Since it’s our first time we just did the usual. Tourist mode on!

Rekindled our inner kid at Disney Land, goofed around Madame Tussauds Wax Musem, and chilled our hearts out at The Peak. Of course we overwhelmed our wallets at Mongkok Ladies Market. For our palates, unfortunately, our tummies weren’t able to handle HK’s streetfood so we were forced to eat in fastfood chains the entire trip. Oh, except for that food in HK Disneyland, the mickey rice was amazeballs! J

But yeah, all in all, it was a good first time in a foreign land with language that I really can’t comprehend. Peace out!

July-October 2016, Cebu, Philippines

Okay, about this trip, I honestly just don’t wanna think about it anymore. It’s just that I have to include it here. Let’s just say I visited this place 6 times in let’s say 3 months. Yeah I know, that’s really quite a lot.

Food was good as always. Temple of Leah was something you shouldn’t miss. The beaches, especially Sumilon and Bantayan as well, and the new attractions like 10 thousand roses (I cant quite remember the name). Though I really didn’t have the chance to visit those places (don’t ask). But I will. One day. Just not now, not in the next few years either. But one day. I promise.

Let's just put it this way; I learned my biggest lesson in this place. One for the road.

December 2016, Balesin Island, Philippines (Birthday Trip)

Yet of course, I won’t let my year end at a low note. I wasn’t raised that way! Pls. don’t raise your eyebrows now, lols jk. But yes, I had a birthday trip at the prestigious B-A-L-E-S-I-N  I-S-L-A-N-D for 8, yes, EIGHT effin days! But oh, no, I am not a member of Balesin Island Club, though I really wish I am. Lols. But thanks to a college orgmate who’s now the concierge manager of the island for making my birthday trip possible.

This trip was an escape-rest-relax-redemption all rolled into one of myself. And remembering those days at this moment only gives me one thought. I HAVE TO COME BACK!. As if more than one week isn’t enough. As if I didn’t see everything this beautiful island has to offer. As if it’s not just 3 months ago since my visit.

Diving into the infinity pool of Mykonos Village and recharging with greek food at the Taverna afterwards was something that I promise won’t ever get tired of doing. Feeling cozy walking along the patios of Toscana or enjoying their authentic Italian dishes at Ristoranti Toscani or the Trattoria was a divine experience. Or just simply sitting under the shade of a tree while facing the Lamon Bay at Balesin Village. Tranquility and serenity at its finest. And did I mention already the fine white sand and the peaceful waves? J

And I won’t forget the colorful Villas of St. Tropez, the salt water pool of Costa Del Sol, the thai feeling of Phuket or that emotional walk going to Nusa Dua Bar of Bali Village. And yes, I am fortunate enough to had a glimpse of the Royal Balesin Village which was usually closed not unless you have rented the whole place.

Indeed, not so bad way to end the year, not bad at ALL! J

Also, for a side note, after a month, January 2017, I did a quick escape and flew to Davao. First to visit a dear sister and to enjoy the company of the rest of the family as well.

So, will I pass as a traveler now? J Wait up for the start of my globe-trotting next week!
