Quiet Love

The lack of romance might seem baffling and unacceptable to a generation whose idea of love involves flash mobs and viral videos and a deluge of couple selfies on Facebook. Nowadays it seems that if you don’t express your love loudly enough, it doesn’t count.

But if there’s one thing I learned about life and love, it’s the beauty of quiet love. One that focuses on depth, not volume, and is unmindful of the crowd. Love that is expressed not through grand gestures or eloquent pronouncements, but through quiet service.

A love that didn’t trumpet itself and didn’t crave an audience.

At a time when people are screaming their I love yous and promising forever in big, bold letters, it’s comforting to know that the power of a quiet love remains. It reminds me to value the love that’s tucked in the corners, not clamoring to be heard but is nevertheless felt.

A trip down memory lane (2016)

It has really been a while since I posted something here about my travel. So, before I head on to another adventure next week, I’ll trip down memory lane where my wanderlust took me last year. I travelled 8 times and visited 3 places last year. Yeap, that means I visited one place 6 times. And then after that, I honestly kinda slowed down being gypsy as some adulting stuff demanded my attention plus the unexpected occurrences. I swear, it’s a mix of good and bad but nonetheless, here it is:

Last week, you randomly gave me a call telling me that you’re going to Valkyrie. Deep in mind I know you’re heartbroken, cause knowing you, you only initiate to see me when you have girl problems. (Hahaha) Too bad I was already on my way home. So I told you, and you promised me, to just visit me again to work that weekend so we can catch up. You even tried to call me late that night but I was already asleep. I never thought that’s the last time I will hear your voice.

We’re not the best of friends. We don’t have picture together cause we never want to be an item. Haha. And last year, when I transferred job and you started to expand your car business, we rarely see each other. However, you made sure you’re there when I needed it most.  You made sure you’re still my ultimate wingman.
