Traffic Thoughts

It’s been more than a month since I posted something on this little blog/e-diary of mine. And today, I have decided to update it in time for what has been happening for the past days.

I was frustrated with my cab ride going to work this morning. It was really unfortunate that some taxi driver would have to lure their passengers for a promised faster route but ending up in a heavy traffic just to keep the fare meter running. But what frustrates me even more was the radio station that we’re tuned in. Apparently, these two radio personnel were talking about the Gilas Pilipinas, mind you; it was the morning after Gilas defeated Lebanon to advance in the semis of the FIBA ASIA 2015.

The traffic was insane (as always!) that made me listen to their discussion. I was listening attentively,  that I can still remember how the “analyst” pronounced Andray’s full name, “Andray Maurice Blat-che”. Yes, he said "Blat-che.", to my irritation, I kind of loudly said “BLATCHE!” to correct him (as if he can hear me).

Thank you SM, On to the Next Chapter

Exactly three days from now, I will be leaving my company of two years, SM Megamall. I suck in saying goodbye, that's why I'm making a space in this blog of mine to properly write my exit thank you’s to everyone who has been part of my SM Life.

It’s been a crazy ride for the past two years with a lot of ups and downs, lessons and successes. And the thought of leaving this life in a few days saddens me and excites me all at the same time. Yet looking back to everything that I've been through, I am nothing but grateful for the whole experience and I will admit that I will miss everything.

PBA Draft Class of 2015

Exactly six days before the PBA draft day.

I have been actually hearing and reading a lot about the draft since two weeks ago. There were mock drafts that has reached its version seven I guess, the top picks' profile, the whole list, and almost everything and anything that concerns the big day for all aspirants.

Last year up until early this year, I was blessed enough to watched the PBA D-League and was even tasked to do courtside in some games that made me familiar with most of the names that were included in the Draft Class of 2015.  All I can say for this year's draft class, guard-heavy.

Why I travel and why I quit my job.

I started traveling two years ago. It was my 20th birthday and I was just thinking of something new to do.  Visiting Baguio came into my thoughts and I never knew it would lead me into some discoveries about myself.

FIBA, You Can Never Go Wrong With The Philippines' Bid #PUSO2019

The internet has been a buzz for the past few months about the bid for FIBA World Cup in 2019. When Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan announced that the Philippines is one of the countries that will attempt to get the hosting rights of the most prestigious basketball sporting event in the world, me and my fellow kababayans around the globe has earnestly following the progress of our country’s chances. Now we are down to two countries. Philippines and China.

Poems From My Old Files

The Thought That I Never Thought

Who would have thought
That this can be true?
That love could be possible
Between me and you.

I never would have thought,
That it could be you,
The one that I am looking for
and can make my dreams come true.

Braving Bohol 2015

It took me so long to have another solo trip. This was my first official trip for this year.
Time to just rest, relax and reflect on everything that's going on. Plus of course, explore and enjoy the place.

So this was how my #BravingBohol went.

He's The Man That Never Was

It's been a few months since I wrote something here on my blog. Work demanded so much of my time, plus the new opportunities that came made me a lot busier. But today, I took the time to just put this feeling into words. I just felt the need.

Yesterday I saw him again. After probably a month of not talking with each other. He was there, a few meters away from me. With the short distance that we had, I know he can hear me when I call his name. But I did not do that, atleast, not anymore.

Work + Love = Happy Jess

Last year, was a great year for Philippine basketball.
And I was definitely glad about the achievements of our National Team. Being a basketball fan myself, I was really proud of who we are, and what we do on the court.

I felt so blessed to have witnessed most of it. Even felt more blessed in having two basketball events at work.

Don't even ask what I was feeling during those times. Glad. Overwhelmed. Giddy. Overjoyed. Everything positive. Doing something closest to my heart was the best thing ever.

Tautuaa, Galliguez Legit Ready for the Bigger Stage

(Edited)
Yesterday was a big day for PBA D-League.
It feted the battle of two undefeated sides: the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns and Hapee Fresh Fighters.

One had the generation's best amateur stars. The other had a cast of tested role players surrounding a giant centerpiece. Only one can claim the top spot and after the intense and highly-physical encounter, Cagayan emerged spotless.

Two names - among many promising young stars during that day - stood out: Moala Tautuaa and Abel Galliguez. They proved in the decisive win that they are ready for the bigger stage.

Make-Over by Jason and Mark of Team Lourd Ramos

Last year, I had a couple of milestones that I was really grateful for.
The opportunities that came deserved to be given full justice or else everything will come to waste.
I was overwhelmed by the blessings through friends that helped me along the way.
Especially to this couple that I actually just met a couple of months ago. Mark and Jason supported me in reaching my dreams. Truly real friendship was not measured by quantity but by quality.

These two made everything happened. And I am always grateful for them. They made me look always camera ready for my courtside reporting stints. Always fresh and classy for my VTRs, weddings, and work events.

Here are some of my make-overs last year and looking forward to more this year!

Catch these two and experience their magic by yourself.

Fashion Takes Flight Launch Nov 2013

When I buy clothes,I usually buy a complete outfit. All the time. So often, Im using the same set of outfit. Just like for this dress, I matched it with a red pumps and red clutch. First used for a wedding and now for a event. Learning: know how to mix and match.

CHANGE 2015

I had a lot of milestones last year. Milestones that caused changed. Major change. From head to toe. Inner to outer. Change. Change is constant. It is inevitable. Something that we need to embrace. Change for the better. Change for yourself.
